Durban July promises sibling rivalry

Published by charl on May 28, 2009

RIVER Jetez all class, idled past her rivals on Wednesday in the 8th race at Clairwood over 1450m, a victory in similar fashion to her brother Pocket Power’s three days ago over the same course and distance, reports LEON SETARO for Interbet.

Times
River Jetez (51.5kg) - 84.91sec
Pocket Power (61kg) - 86.67sec

Trainer Mike Bass is a master at preparing horses for a specific day and Pocket Power and River Jetez are on target for destiny and the 4th of July 2009. This year could well see a July 1-2 finish for the progeny of Jet Master & Stormsvlei, a genetic combination proven on the race tracks as the most successful in SA thoroughbred history.. and to think that the mare Stormsvlei was floating around the local market on offer at a paltry R40k back in the day!
