Interview with Trainer Michael Roberts for Greyville Night Racing on Wednesday 16 December 2009:
Race 7
No. 7 – Zizou – I thought he was very unlucky not to have won last time. He’s a big runner tonight and I expect him to win. He’ll need a bit of luck to get over from that bad draw. He’s certainly improved since he’s been racing over further and I think 2000m is his optimal distance.
Race 8
No. 10 – Reign ‘N Rule – I’d like to warn punters that he might need the race but I must say that he caught me unaware a few runs back when he won. On that day, I also thought that he may need the run but he proved me wrong, so you never know with this type of going. He will definitely like the wet conditions and he’s worth including in the bigger permutations
Race 9
No. 5 – Jewel Of Winter – She’s the form horse but unfortunately she’s drawn 9 out of 11. These fillies’ races don’t come around often, so we have to take what we can get otherwise we have to wait another 3 weeks for a suitable race to be scheduled. I don’t usually like to run two horses in the same race but unfortunately I have to here. This filly is very nice, she’s due for a win and I don’t think her drawn will be a disadvantage because one must remember that when there are soft conditions at Greyville, the surface conditions from a wider draw are usually better in the later races.
Race 10
No. 10 – Indecent Obsession (AUS) – This horse really should win tonight and it’s only the draw that makes me a bit hesitant. To be honest, if he was drawn in the first 6, I don’t think anything would beat him.
