A big start for De Kock at Meydan

MIKE de Kock’s stable started the 2010 Carnival with a bang, sending out Raihana and Lizard’s Desire to easy wins at the new Meydan racecourse. Both were ridden by Christophe Soumillon, retained by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum for the duration of the Carnival.
De Kock said: “We knew we had some good chances on the night and it is obviously very pleasing to win the opening Thoroughred races at the new course. Raihana is the best 3yo filly we have bought to Dubai and the UAE 1000 Guineas will be her next target.
“Lizard’s Desire is a horse we hoped could do well at the Carnival and may even progress past handicaps. King of Rome’s performance was very pleasing also.”
De Kock has 32 horses stables in the UAE. The likes of Eagle Moutain, Musir, Solid Choice and Our Giant will be seen in action over the next few weeks.

Congrats, and just to think that I wagered a butchershop lunch with the Giant Albert that this horse would never win a pattern race…. Now only if the giant would let me buy him that lunch so I can move on, as this debt is bringing me bad luck!!

The way I see it its clear to say that there are 2 types of horse trainers, MIKE DE KOCK and all the others wishing they were MIKE DE KOCK.

GOOD , nobody disagree’s with me about our own MASTER horse trainer and should you want to - just think it over again. The results are proven. Look at the meeting results on 04/02/2010 and dont forget that date. Well done with your treble MDK and espesially with MUSIR. Im sure that by now people will realize that he is a champ and deserved the title for best 2 Yr old last season. Best Regards D.A
